I’m an ignorant photographer. I’ve only ever used digital cameras. I’ve never even seen film being developed. I used to be proud of that – I stumbled through self-education like a newly blind man running through an overstocked antiques shop. Of course certain people helped me on my way:Marco Franchini and I used to mess around with umbrellas in his garage.Xavier Vahed taught me the proper names for some things and Tyrone Bradley was endlessly generous with his hard earned knowledge. Years later and by some miracle (or curse) I’m still working as a photographer. Sadly my face is still blank when people talk about film, like a dog that has just been shown a card trick. And so a new journey begins. Stab out my eyes, stick some fireworks up my asshole and put me in that china shop. I’ve gone and bought a film camera.
